Our guide, Kelvin, was extraordinary! So knowledgeable and can answer any and all questions concerning, wildlife, plants, etc. He was great on the night drives. I wish I could go back. This was definitely a trip of a lifetime!

Our guide Kelvin was five star! We spent eight hours each day on drives seeing elephants, lions, wild dogs, giraffes, wild buffalo, leopards and much more! Our family jotted down thirty different types of animals we saw, let alone the dozens of beautiful birds. One major highlight was the opportunity to do a walking safari. It was so exciting to peek around each bush or tree wondering what we would see; an elephant, a zebra, etc. We told our twelve-year old son he learned more about science in one week than he would in a semester at school. It was fascinating to track the animals and learn about their behaviors and environment. During our time we were able to meet Ginger and Garlic, the local lions, and spend time with them as they defended their pride.

Hiring a private guide was the best thing I could have done! Kelvin was well mannered, a gentle soul, passionate about his work, and willing to 'sit' quietly to wait for things to happen and they did. For example photographing a baby puku seconds after it was born. The private guide arrangement allows you the freedom to do what YOU want and suited me perfectly. In fact, Kelvin came with me for 4 nights and on our first afternoon drive, spent about 2 hours with a pack of Wild dogs, resting and then going back to their earlier kill. Fabulous!! We also photographed a roan antelope running up the Kapamba River bed - they haven't been seen in Kapamba for 15 years!
