1. Walk along the Daugava River, and hear of the Old Town’s turbulent, 800-year-old history.
Featuring cobble-stone streets and an abundance of architectural gems. Old Town is a striking example of how cities were built back in the day.
2. St. Peter’s Church
Riga’s tallest church with a tower offering a breathtaking view of the red roofs of Old Town, the modern part of the city, Riga Bay and the Daugava River. (entrance to tower, extra cost) First mentioned in documents in 1209, built for citizens of Riga.
3. Riga Dome Cathedral
For centuries, Riga Cathedral has been one of the main venues of musical events in Riga and the whole of Latvia, and so it is also today when music of various ages is played both at church services and regular concerts in the Cathedral.
4. Blackheads House
The house of the Blackheads, a venue for exhibitions, concerts and other events, is a landmark of Riga Old City. Admire the opulent facade of the House of the Blackheads featuring various architectural styles and artistic trends of various periods.
5. Three Brothers
Who are those three brothers, let it be a secret that you will discover when traveling with me through the centuries through the ancient Riga.
6. The Gunpowder Tower and many more.
The Gunpowder Tower was built around 1330 as one of the fortification towers. It acquired the present name in the 17th century due to smell of smoke spread by gunshots from the tower.
Finish. The tour ends with drop off at cruise port, your hotel or you can stay in Old town and enjoy the rest of your day
