Pashupatinath

By anilguide, independent tour guide in Nepal

Pashupatinath is the most sacred Hindu temple situated on the bank of the Bagamati river which mixes up with Ganges towards south in India. The literal meaning of Pashupatinath is Lord of all beings. You can also see the cremation ghats ( funeral pyres) on the bank of the Bagamati river. Besides, you can meet Sadhus (so called holy men) in the area posing for pictures with the tourists for some income. A big festival called ‘Shivaratri’ is held here in the month of February every year.
