Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve is the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa. It consists of 960 km² of hilly topography 280 kilometres north of Durban in central KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and is known world-wide for its rich wildlife and conservation efforts. It is home to the big 5 and many other animals, a huge array of bird and plant species.

Day 1. Depart from Durban at 5:00am and head off to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. This is a 3 hour drive along the north coast passing beautiful plantations along the way. Arrive at Hluhluwe Imfolozi at 8:00am and immediately embark on a game drive before breaking for lunch at 12:00pm. After lunch we check into the hotel, Hilltop, which is situated inside the game reserve. After checking in and some relaxation, proceed for the late afternoon game drive which ends with a stop-over at one of the drinking holes for the animals as you watch the African sun set. Thereafter, proceed to the hotel for a South African style braai dinner. Watch the animals graze close to your rooms as the night falls. On this day, you should already have collected a wide range of photographs of animals, birds, the scenery and much more.

Day 2. Proceed for an early morning game drive at 5:30am in the morning. The early morning game drive offers the best possible opportunity to spot some of the predators like the lions and leopards as they go about finishing off the business of their previous night hunts. Break for breakfast and hotel check out. Follow this up with a game drive to other portions of the game park which might not have been covered the previous day as this is a huge game reserve. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and all that this game reserve has to offer.

Depart for Durban in the afternoon having fully enjoyed your safari at this great world renowned game reserve to arrive at 6:00pm for drop offs at the hotels, airport and port.
