12 Days /11 nights Tour (Uganda). This Safari will take you to some of the interesting national parks of Uganda for an adventure of the Big 5, Gorillas, chimpanzees and relaxing activities like hikes and boat trips. Day 1: You will meet our guide from Big lion Safaris and briefs you on this tour then head for Ziwa rhino sanctuary. The rhino sanctuary is known for spotting white rhinos at a close range in the wild. The rhino is one of the big 5 experience, here you will have an hour of tracking these animals. After your rhino tracking have lunch and proceed your journey to Murchison falls National Park. This park has a lot of exiting attractions, continue to the park to check in to your accommodation. Dinner and over night at Pakuba safari lodge, or Fort Murchison lodge. Day 2: After your morning breakfast, you will hit the Savannah in search for more adventure. This park offers the best scenery for landscape and also the big 4. Today you will embark on a 3 hours game drive in to search for the big 4 which include the lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant.OPTIONAL; (you may opt for a hot air balloon safari) at an additional cost. Other big game include giraffes, hippos, kobs, hartbeasts, warthogs, hyenas, jackals will be spotted. Break off at the hippo pool to see the Hippos at a closer range in the river Nile. Return back to the lodge for lunch and afternoon boat cruise to the summit of the Murchison falls. The cruise on the river is relaxing and also offers another opportunity for more animal sightings like the crocodiles, Hippos, elephants, the fish eagles,the king fishers, and lots of birds. Proceed with a hike to the top of the falls. It is another adventurous activity one shouldn't miss. Dinner and over night at your lodge. Day 3: Today you will exit Murchison falls National Park and head to Fortportal city. This drive is a beautiful, driving through villages, beautiful countrysides, tea plantations and some encounter of the local community on the road. Preferred stops will be made to take photos of different sightings. You will drive through the rift valley escarpments of bulisa to view lake Albert from a distance. After our lunch stop in fort-portal city, we shall transfer to the caves( amabere ga nyina mwiru) for another interesting cultural trail tour. There is a very beautiful falls which is believed to have happened after a princess breast was cut off by her father. You will enjoy all these stories. Dinner and over night at Fort motel/ Ducthess in Fort-potal. Day 4: Drive to Kibale NP and later proceed to explore the Kibale crater lakes. Relax, then continue to explore the craters with a hike to the top of the world. A cluster of craters lakes was formed due to volcanic eruptions, 8000 years ago.Visit lake nkuruba crater where one can swim. Primate sighting at lake nkuruba. Today we shall also visit the local community to learn how they prepare or distill their local gin. Dinner and overnight at chimpanzee guesthouse/Isunga lodge. Day 5: After breakfast head for kibale national park for the morning briefing on the dos and don'ts during the search of the chimpanzees. This is going to be a guided chimpanzee trek. Other primates might be spotted during the walk, like the grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboons, L’Hoest monkey and red colobus alongside the black and white colobus. After the trek head back to the lodge for lunch. Evening Bigodi swamp walk with the community guides. In the swamp walk you will spot many birds species, primates and meet with local people as you traverse through the villages. Day 6: After breakfast, you will hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through beautiful villages, with prefered stops to take photos in markets, beautiful banana plantations and the community. Enjoy the great views of Lake George. The park lies at the foothills of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon.” Check in at Buffalo Safari lodge, Park veiw or pumba cottages. After relaxing, head for the evening game drive where you will see buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and elephants along the way as you drive slowly to visit the Lake Katwe town with its gorgeous exhibit of crater lakes. Check out salt mining at lake katwe crater. You will have a chance to see the flamingos at this lake depending on the time of year. Return back to the lodge and rest. Day 7: Rise up early, take breakfast and thereafter head for a game drive at the Kasenyi plains, your Safari guide will help to look for Lions, leopards, bushbuck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes elephants, snakes to mention but a few. A collection of birds like Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. This can take you 3-4 hrs. Head back to the lodge for lunch. Continue with an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel (2hrs) along lake George-lake Edward. The kazinga channel joins lake Gorge with Edward. You will have a chance to see great numbers of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes giant forest hogs, leopards though rarely spotted. And for the birders, there are over 550 resident species. Like the african data, Papyrus Gonolek, pink-backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, pink-backed pelicans, water thick-knee, yellow-billed stork. Don’t forget your camera. Return to your lodge. Day 8: Head to Ishasha sector for game viewing and in search of tree-climbing lions as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Tree sclimbing lions are the major attractions of this area but the chance of seeing these lions will always remain 60%. Proceed to Bwindi national park a worldwide recognized habitat for the mountain gorillas. Sleep at enganzi, bakiga lodge or ichumbi lodge or broadbill lodge. Day 9: Boost your morning with an early breakfast so that you energize before heading out to the jungle for the action of gorilla trekking. You will trek through the huge Bwindi forest as you search for the mountain gorillas to observe their behavior, this can take,2 hours, half-day or longer depending on the mobility of members in your group and the location of the Gorillas . A packed lunch is recommended and this will be had in the jungle in order to boost you up.. After tracking, go for a brief visits to the batwa (pygmies who used to live in the forest before it was gazetted as a national Park).You will transfer to Hawks eye, Lake Bunyonyi rock resort or Acadia cottages for a night. Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi: enjoy a canoe ride or a boat cruise to explore the different islands of Lake Bunyonyi. Cruise to punishment island where Bakiga girls who became pregnant before marriage would be taken and left to die in isolation. Other islands of lake Bunyonyi include Akampene, Bushara, and Bucuraniko among others. In the afternoon, interact with the community etc. Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and enjoy a afternoon (evening) game drive in search for Zebras, topis, errands, buffaloes, leopards, warthhogs, waterbucks, girrafes, and ‘impalas’ which are not easily observed anywhere else in Uganda. You could also opt for a night game drive for you to view some nocturnal game, like the leopards, white tailed mongoose, hyenas, night jars, oryx owls to mention but a few.( but for an additional cost payable at the park gates). Dinner and overnight at your lodge. Day 12: After breakfast you will have a guided nature walk in the park. With an (armed ranger)This walk will get you close to the game. Learn and interact with these animals. There will also be a chance to spot birds at a closer range. You will then be transferred back to your final destination or airport with an en-route stop at the equator line for lunch.
