On day 1 you’ll explore the wonderful city of Rishikesh and see delights such as the Lakshman Jhula, an iron suspension bridge going across the Ganges and offering panoramic views of Rishikesh city. Pay a visit to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, guru to the Beatles (and other celebrities) during the 1960s. And take a look at Bharat Mandir, the most ancient and sacred temple in the city.
In the evening you’ll make a trip to Triveni Ghat on the banks of the Ganges to watch the divine evening Maha Aarti ceremony. This beautiful ceremony is truly mesmerizing and you’ll be seduced by the gentle prayers of the priests, glowing lamps on the river and smoke from the incense sticks.
On day 2 you’ll start the morning early with a yoga session run by a professional yoga trainer, then it’s on to Haridwar for a half-day of sightseeing. Start at Har ki Pauri on the banks of the river Ganges and also explore some of the temples scattered around this area. Then, a short trip to Ma Anandamayi Ashram, a popular spot among tourists seeking spiritual peace and calm.
