Amsterdam, The Netherlands

A walk along the canals with their bridges and stately atmosphere, the flower market, the Spui, the Dam square and Royal Palace, the courtyards, the Jordaan and the markets gives you an idea of a medieval ánd a progressive city at the same time.

Amsterdam: a unique place of history and culture!

Amsterdam is unmistakable unique: its ring of canals, the small and high houses along the canals,  the Dam, the Jordaan, the Red Light District, the house boots, all the bikes..nowhere in the world there is a similar atmosphere…As one of my guests once mentioned:’ this is the city where I can be myself, where I feel accepted as I am’.

A walk along the canals with their bridges and stately atmosphere, the flower market, the Spui, the Dam square and Royal Palace, the courtyards, the Jordaan and the markets gives you an idea of a medieval ánd a progressive city at the same time.

We pass along several small museums like the cheese museum, the tulip museum, the houseboat museum.

For those who are in for it, a visit to the Red Light District is not only fascinating for its cramped streets and ambivalent atmosphere but also for its medieval houses, churches and monuments..

A few suggestions:

  • Anne Frank House in combination with a walking or biking tour
  • Van Gogh/Stedelijk or Rijksmuseum in combination with a city walk
  • Something completely different but much asked for: a shopping tour for Dutch design and vintage brands in the 9 small streets

As my tours are tailor-made, prices vary depending on the time of start and finish, location of pick-up and dropp-of, duration, high or low season, use of car and distances.

In general prices vary between € 240 (full day Amsterdam walking tour) and € 400 (full day visit to 2-3 towns inclusing transport up to € 200 km)
